24th January 2018 - Advance Fee Fraud Scam

On 24th January 2018, telephone number +447031933584 was reported as being used by scammers to pretend to be Ross McEwan working as CEO for Royal Bank of Scotland plc using email address ross.mc@indamail.hu as part of an Advance Fee Fraud Scam.
In Advance Fee Fraud Scams, the scammer will offer you something of high value (a large sum of money or gold for example) and all you have to do is pay a "small" fee. What the scammer is offering you does not actually exist and the scammer will come up with fee after fee that needs to be paid by the victims, until he either runs out of money or realises that he has been scammed. The scammer will often pretend to be real people or companies, use fake websites and introduce various characters, all with the aim of convincing the victim that what is being offered to him is real.

Here is the email that the scammer sent to his victims.
I have gone through your fund payment right from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and as well from the Central Payment System and have noticed one important thing delaying the payment of your fund.

(1) Your fund was moved by the Directors / Government officials that handled your payment and is placed on Stock & Bond trading under high placement which its interest is returned directly to them, and as such there is nothing you can do to have them pay you your contract /
inheritance fund payment.

(2) They have people monitoring this fund and as such giving them report on each attempt to step down the placement for a transfer to you, and secondly your contract / inheritance information has been on every government system as such it is being watched.

I can guarantee you of paying you this fund, as I can track it from our system here and have it redirected to a multi-Million Finance company that can easily make a transfer to your account without the Nigerian Government or their official's knowing of the movement of
your fund and they will never know.
