29th April 2020 - Advance Fee Fraud Scam

On 29th April 2020, telephone number +233302417540 was reported as being used by scammers to pretend to be Patrick Mensah working for United Bank for Africa, Ghana Plc. using email address groupuba@groupmail.com as part of an Advance Fee Fraud Scam.

In Advance Fee Fraud Scams, the scammer will offer you something of high value (a large sum of money or gold for example) and all you have to do is pay a "small" fee. What the scammer is offering you does not actually exist and the scammer will come up with fee after fee that needs to be paid by the victims, until he either runs out of money or realises that he has been scammed. The scammer will often pretend to be real people or companies, use fake websites and introduce various characters, all with the aim of convincing the victim that what is being offered to him is real.

16th April 2020 - Advance Fee Fraud Scam

On 16th April 2020, telephone number +233302417540 was reported as being used by scammers to pretend to be Nana Dankwa working for United Bank for Africa using email address groupuba@groupmail.com as part of an Advance Fee Fraud Scam.

In Advance Fee Fraud Scams, the scammer will offer you something of high value (a large sum of money or gold for example) and all you have to do is pay a "small" fee. Please let’s be sincere to ourselves. Be open. What kind of funny
things are you talking about? I can reassure you that this transaction
is 100% legitimate and that you will not be exposed to any form of
risk for partnering with me in securing this noble project. It shall
pass through all Laws of local and International banking.

As I stated earlier, permit me to fix your name to my office database
as one of investors attached to my office portfolio and account will
be establish on your name according to UBA bank code of conduct to
entire investors to enable you receive the fund by VISA ATM CARD or by
bank to bank wire transfer without any chaos.

However, you will be required to apply and open an domiciliary
(Non-Resident) account in your name, with our bank, to ease the funds
transfer to your local bank account in your country without any
problems
