Scam alert from the Solicitors Regulation Authority website:
We have been notified that clients of genuine firms have received letters from "James O'Sullivan" at "JPO Legal Solutions", claiming to be based in Liverpool.

The letter states that the client's original case was with Dennison Greer Solicitors for a cavity wall claim, and that the case had purportedly been transferred to "JPO Legal Solutions" by the SRA because "Dennison Greer Solicitors failed as a practice".

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm called "JPO Legal Solutions" (or a firm called JPO Ltd trading as JPO Legal Solutions).

The letter seen by the SRA states that "an offer of £18,205.00 in total settlement has been made by CIGA insurance underwriters". From information on the CIGA website this is understood to be categorically incorrect. The letter also includes an invoice for "administration costs involved in processing the payment".

The letter provides a postal address of "Rodney Chambers, 40 Rodney Street, Liverpool, L1 9AA", a registered office address of "24 Winchester Road, Highams Park, London, E4 9LL", a telephone number of "0151 433 2580" a fax number of "+44 1514332580", a general email address of "info@jpolegal.com" and an email address for "James O’Sullivan" of "james.osullivan@jpologal.com".

Any business or transaction through "JPO Legal Solutions" are not undertaken by a solicitor’s practice or individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
