The letter claims to have been sent by “Timothy Dowd Esq†and falsely claims that there is a “Dowd & Co†law firm based in London, WC2A 1AL, with an ID number of 561149. The letter includes reference to contact numbers of +44 203 6083990 (telephone) and +44 203 6083990 (fax), and a supposed website address of www.dowdlaw.com.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called “Dowd & Coâ€.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate an individual solicitor by the name of Timothy Dowd.
Any business or transactions through Timothy Dowd using the contact details above, are not undertaken by a solicitor’s practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
