Scam alert from the Solicitors Regulation Authority website:
The SRA has received information that a member of the public has received a letter claiming to be from Jim Felt of the firm of “Caputo & Partners LLP”. The letter relates to a supposedly unclaimed permanent life insurance policy, stated to be worth $10,950,777.

A letter seen by the SRA states that “Jim Felt” is a solicitor dealing with the estate of an individual, who shares the same surname as the recipient of the letter. The letter claims that the deceased client had the benefit of a permanent life insurance policy worth $10,950,777.

The letter seen by the SRA provides email addresses of info@caputoandpartnersllp.co.uk and jfelt2070@gmail.com and a website address of http://www.caputoandpartnersllp.co.uk. The letter also provides a telephone number of 011 44 203318 5000, a fax number of 011 44 2038075081 and a general address of 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5AA.

The SRA does not authorise and regulate either a genuine firm named Caputo & Partners LLP, or a genuine individual solicitor named Jim Felt.

Any business or transactions conducted through the email addresses, website or telephone/fax numbers set out above are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
