On 26th June 2019, telephone number +2349024533285 was reported as being used by scammers to pretend to be Godwin Emefiele using email address emefielecbngovern@gmail.com as part of an Advance Fee Fraud Scam.
In Advance Fee Fraud Scams, the scammer will offer you something of high value (a large sum of money or gold for example) and all you have to do is pay a "small" fee. What the scammer is offering you does not actually exist and the scammer will come up with fee after fee that needs to be paid by the victims, until he either runs out of money or realises that he has been scammed. The scammer will often pretend to be real people or companies, use fake websites and introduce various characters, all with the aim of convincing the victim that what is being offered to him is real.

I am Mr. Proulx Claude, a 55 years old Canadian citizen. I reside in Matheson, Ontario Canada. I am one of those that took part in the Contract/Compensation and lottery payment in Nigeria couple of years ago without receiving a cent. I paid over US$45,000 trying to get my payments without any success. So I decided to travel down to West Africa with my legal documents and with the help of the Canadian consulate in West Africa, I met one on one with Mr. Godwin Emefiele, who happens to be the legal and authorized Central Bank Governor (CBN Governor)

Mr. Godwin Emefiele, during our meeting in his office, brought out a file containing names of people that are yet to receive their payments where i saw your email contacts. I urge you to stop any dealings or communication you are having with any office or persons in respect to your pending US$950,000.00 Contract/Compensation or lottery payments because, i have received mine with the help of Mr. Godwin Emefiele and will be travelling to Cayman Island for a long vacation in a couple of days from now.
