21st July 2018 - Advance Fee Fraud Scam

On 21st July 2018, telephone number +233232496756 was reported as being used by scammers to pretend to be Dr. George Asare using email address bkm6202@gmail.com as part of an Advance Fee Fraud Scam.
In Advance Fee Fraud Scams, the scammer will offer you something of high value (a large sum of money or gold for example) and all you have to do is pay a "small" fee. What the scammer is offering you does not actually exist and the scammer will come up with fee after fee that needs to be paid by the victims, until he either runs out of money or realises that he has been scammed. The scammer will often pretend to be real people or companies, use fake websites and introduce various characters, all with the aim of convincing the victim that what is being offered to him is real.

Here is the email that the scammer sent to his victims.
Attn:Sir,

Upon review of pending transactions by the Funds Release Council,it
was recommended that your funds in the sum of $17million should be
released forthwith.The funds will be released to you in conformity
with international financial regulations thereby ensuring that there
will be no stop order by any agency or institution.

You will be issued with a Financial Compliance Certificate(FCC) in
order to ensure smooth and uninterrupted remittance process.You will
be able to access your funds within 48 hours after the Financial
Compliance Certificate is issued to you.

To this end,kindly revert with your full address,occupation,contact
telephone number and your receiving bank information.You also have the
option of receiving your funds through a certified cashier's cheque
which will be delivered directly to your address via courier.

In your reply,indicate your preference and provide requisite details
to facilitate the process.
