The SRA has received a report that emails have been sent falsely claiming to be from "Clive Farndon of Andersons Solicitors" referring to a "Memorandum of Sale".
The emails appear to relate to a property conveyance and the attachment is referred to as "Memorandum of sale for 17 Vicarage Close". These emails are not genuine and there is concern that the attachment may contain harmful malware if opened.
The emails seen by the SRA were sent from the email address "andersons-sol@btconnect.com" and refer to a telephone number of 01423 527437 and facsimile number of 01423 527228.
The emails contain a footer which includes the genuine address and the genuine SRA number of a genuine firm (see below).
Any business or transactions conducted through "andersons-sol@btconnect.com" or the telephone and facsimile number as recorded above are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA
