Scam Type: Advance Fee Fraud Scam

The SRA have been informed that emails have been sent to members of the public falsely claiming to be from "Martin T Rowe Esq" of H & R Hughes Solicitors LLP.
An email seen by the SRA refers to an "abandoned investment" which is held for a former client who had the same surname as the recipient of the email.
Copy emails seen by the SRA were sent from the following email addresses: "attorneymartinrowe@hotmail.com" and "martinirowe@hotmail.com" and they list a contact telephone number for H & R Hughes Solicitors LLP of "+44 1908 706428". The email also gives the address of a genuine firm.
Any business or transactions through the email addresses of "attorneymartinrowe@hotmail.com" and "martinirowe@hotmail.com" or the telephone number "+44 1908 706428" are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
