Scam Type: Advance Fee Fraud Scam

The SRA has been informed that an email has been sent to a member of the public, claiming to be from "Iain Donald Macaskill".
The email seen by the SRA refers to an unclaimed inheritance from a deceased individual with a similar surname as the recipient of the email. The email states it is from "Iain Macaskill", who claims to be the "legal representative" of the deceased.
The SRA has been advised that the emails were sent from the email addresses "Iaindonaldmacaskill@outlook.com" and "iaindmacaskill78@outlook.com", and invite the recipient to contact the sender using the telephone number 44 247 6100 844.
Any business or transactions through the email addresses "Iaindonaldmacaskill@outlook.com" and "iaindmacaskill78@outlook.com" and telephone number +44 247 6100844 are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
