Scam Type: Phishing or Malware

The SRA has been informed that law firms have received emails from "Thakrar & Co". An email, as seen by the SRA refers to the purchase of the property of 28 Glensharragh Avenue, Belfast, BT6 and contains the reference: "Russell".
The email also refers to an attached memorandum of sale, and a concern is that the attachment may contain malware if opened.
The email as seen by the SRA appears to have been sent from "Thakrar & Co Solicitors", but was actually sent from the email address: "adamumudi1540@gmail.com".
The email also includes a footer which gives the telephone number 0208 843 1599. It also provides the genuine address for a genuine firm.
Any business or transactions through the email address listed above and the telephone number of 0208 843 1599 are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
