From the Solicitors Regulation Authority website:
The SRA has been informed that emails have been sent which attach a letter falsely claiming to be from "David Ainslie" at "Pitmans LLP". The letter is on headed paper using the name "Pitmans".

The letter states that the recipient has been chosen to receive an inheritance of someone with the same surname as them. The email requests that the recipient provides personal contact details to the sender.

The emails claim to be sent from "David Ainslie" at "Pitmans LLP" and provide the email address as "davidainslie@pitmanllp.com". The SRA does not know if the emails are actually sent from this email address, or if an unknown email address is being used.

The emails also state the address for the firm as 47 Castle Street, Reading, Berkshire RG1 7SR, telephone number +44(0) 118 315 0733, fax number +44(0) 118 315 0724 and website http://www.pitmans.com. The letters also give the genuine SRA number, Companies House number and website for a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).

Any business or transactions through the email address "davidainslie@pitmanllp.com", the telephone number +44(0) 118 315 0733 or fax number +44(0) 118 315 0724 are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Please don't confront scammers or tell them their details are on anti-scam sites. It will take them minutes to set up a new identity and existing warnings will be worthless.
