The SRA has been informed that emails have been sent misusing the name of Clifford Chance and Michael Bates, which invite the recipient to review an attachment (which is not attached), regarding a client matter.
The SRA has been informed the email appears to be from Michael Bates (see below) with the title "CE051218P (Clifford Chance) – Introduction" and one email address used is "cliffordchance.com@dsgconst.onmicrosoft.com". The SRA has been informed that the email is signed off by "Micheal" and provides a contact number of "https://scamnumbers.info/shownumber//0044 (0)7537 183432".
The SRA has been further informed that various similar bogus emails have been sent from a range of source addresses, with common factors being the subject title stated above and that they purport to come from email addresses appearing to end with ".onmicrosoft.com".
Any business or transaction through the contact number above, or through an email headed "CE051218P (Clifford Chance) - Introduction" from an email address ending ".onmicrosoft.comâ€, is not undertaken by a solicitor or firm authorised or regulated by the SRA.
