Scam Type: Other Scams
Scam Alert from the Solicitors Regulation Authority website:
A member of the public has received unsolicited telephone calls from "Caroline Barnes" and "Curtis Thornton" claiming to be from "Resolve Solicitors".
The SRA has been informed that the member of the public was initially contacted by a "Caroline Barnes" who claimed to be a junior solicitor working at "Resolve Solicitors". The call was in relation to claiming a refund from a package holiday. The member of the public was then informed that a person by the name of "Curtis Thornton" would call them back to discuss the refund process.
The caller misuses the name of a genuine firm of solicitors and the name of a genuine solicitor (see below). The SRA does not authorise or regulate a solicitor called "Curtis Thornton".
The SRA has also been informed that the member of the public was provided with the following telephone number "01273 761719" and postal address of "88 Boundary Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 7GA".
Any business or transactions carried out in the name of "Resolve Solicitors" by "Caroline Barnes" or "Curtis Thornton" through the postal address or contact number set out above are not undertaken by a solicitor's firm or a solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.
