Scam Alert from the Solicitors Regulation Authority website:
The SRA has been informed that a member of the public has received a telephone call from an individual claiming to be from “Money Claims Advisory Groupâ€. The recipient of the call was asked to make a payment, which he was told would be held by the SRA.
The SRA has been advised that the recipient of the call was told that “Michelle Millsâ€, “Barbara Traynor†and “Delia Mullenâ€, who all worked as solicitors, would go to his residence “with the money owedâ€.
The SRA has also been informed that the telephone call was made from the telephone number of “0203 239 2353â€.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate any solicitors called “Michelle Millsâ€, “Barbara Traynor†and “Delia Mullenâ€.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called “Money Claims Advisory Groupâ€, nor does it have any connection with it.
Any business or transactions through “Money Claims Advisory Group†or the contact names or telephone number above are not undertaken by a solicitor’s practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
