The SRA has been informed that letters have been sent to members of the public, regarding an unclaimed inheritance, which falsely claim to be from "Stuart Bennett" of "Alpine Law Solicitors Ltd".
A copy letter seen by the SRA refers to an unclaimed inheritance worth nine million and five hundred thousand pounds, from the estate of someone with the same surname as the recipient of the letter.
The letter seen by the SRA provides the postal address of a genuine firm of solicitors.
The letter also provides an email address of “stuart_bennett@alpinelawsolicitor.co.uk,†a telephone number of +(44) 168-966-9655 and a fax number of + (44) 168-966-9659. The letters also include a reference to a website “www.alpinelawsolicitor.comâ€.
The bogus website “www.alpinelawsolicitor.com,†misuses the details of 3 genuine authorised and regulated solicitors, Tim Culpin, Mark Briegal and Jamieson Plummer.
Any business or transactions through the email address, website or telephone number referred to above, are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
The domain alpinelawsolicitor.co.uk is not registered.

The SRA has been informed that a website "www.alpinelawsolicitor.com" is operating, which falsely claims to be for a law firm called “Alpine Law Solicitorsâ€. This website is not a website for a genuine firm of solicitors.
The website misuses the name, SRA authorisation number and address of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below) and provides further postal addresses in Ireland and Canada.
The website also lists several partners and other supposed staff members. Many of these copy and misuse the names of genuine solicitors, with the descriptions of people used on the website appearing to have been mostly copied from descriptions of other unrelated solicitors (with different names), from other genuine websites.
Any business or transactions through the website, email address or telephone number referred to above are not undertaken by a solicitor's firm authorised and regulated by the SRA.
