Scam Type: Phishing or Malware

The SRA has been informed that several law firms have received emails, falsely claiming to be from Lawcomm Solicitors. The content relates to a memorandum of sale and encloses contract documentation.
The emails appear to have been sent from the “completion team†and have been sent from the email addresses “invoic831184a@btconnect.comâ€, “invoic838333a@btconnect.com†and “invoic838384a@btconnect.comâ€. The emails also provide the telephone number 01489 834 135 and the fax number 01439 864 101.
Any business or transactions through the email addresses “invoic831184a@btconnect.comâ€, “invoic838333a@btconnect.com†and “invoic838384a@btconnect.com†are not undertaken by a solicitor’s practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
