The SRA has been informed that members of the public have received emails falsely claiming to be from Bruce Laird at Astwood Law, in respect of an unclaimed inheritance from a supposedly deceased client with a similar surname to the recipient of the email.
The emails have been sent from the email address brucellaird@outlook.com and provide a contact telephone number of 0792 455 1310 . The scam emails seen by the SRA also provide the genuine postal and website address of the genuine firm (see below).
Any business or transactions through the email address brucellaird@outlook.com or telephone number 0792 455 1310 are not carried out by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
Please don't confront scammers or tell them their details are on anti-scam sites. It will take them minutes to set up a new identity and existing warnings will be worthless.

The SRA has been informed that members of the public have been sent emails which falsely claim to be from James Stonham of Royds Withy King Solicitors, in respect of an unclaimed inheritance/investment from a supposedly deceased client with a similar surname to the recipient of the email.
The email seen by the SRA was sent from the email address: "jstonham@outlook.com" and provides a contact telephone number of 0792 455 1310.
The message falsely claims to be sent from the firm of Royds Withy King Solicitors, and provides a genuine postal and website address of the genuine firm.
Any business or transactions through the email address "jstonham@outlook.com" or telephone number 0792 455 1310 are not undertaken by a solicitor's practice or an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
The telephone number of 0792 455 1310 was also referred to within another alert, which was published on 11 January 2017.
