I'm getting like 5 calls per hour from Washington DC

Postby c2632 » Wed Nov 01, 2017 3:58 pm

For the past few days, I have been getting numerous, numerous calls from the 202 area code, which is Washington DC.

They are always a different phone number, but always with the 202 area code.

For instance, in the last 15 minutes, I have gotten 3 calls from different 202 numbers.

Yesterday (10/31/17), I received a total of 9 calls, all of which were from 202.

I haven't answered any of the calls, and haven't called any of the numbers back.

Yesterday I just kept hitting the red disconnect button on my phone every time they would call and while my phone was still ringing, but this doesn't seem to be helping, because they are continuing to call today.

This is very nerve wracking! What should I do? :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

I can only say that if they don't leave a message, it is very safe to assume it is not worth calling them back, EVER!! I hope you searched the #'s here to see if it is a known scam # or not. the main page here http://www.scamnumbers.info/index.php will also tell you if the # originates from a cell phone, landline, or VOIP service. knowing the origin helps determine the chance of it being a pure scam call, misdialed #, or telemarketer.

Hopefully you also searched an internet search engine to see if it might be a valid #. However, keep in mind Caller ID (CID) can be spoofed to show any #. I got a call from myself a couple of days ago (according to the CID display), and I know darn right well I didn't even have a phone in my hand so it couldn't have been me.

the sad fact is, since it was a spoofed # and my # to boot, I was not going to report it as a scam on this board.
